Linda and Kate banish graffiti

MEMBERS of the public have been thanked for scrubbing graffiti from an ancient boundary wall at Kennaway House.
Linda Elt and Kate Bowerman sprang into action on Saturday after the act of vandalism in Coburg Road was discovered the previous morning.
Linda is a regular visitor to the town and Kate, of High Wycombe, is the daughter of the Regency mansion’s chairman of trustees, Diana Bowerman.
A large black, white and red tag was sprayed on the wall either late last Thursday or early on Friday.
Diana said: “It seems such a waste of energy to despoil attractive parts of the town and if young people would like to volunteer to help us do some indoor painting then they would be welcome to contact us on 01395 515551.
“Kennaway House grounds are not a public park, but are maintained by the charity’s trust, as is the house, which is a valuable cultural resource for the community.”
Police are keen to hear from anyone with information about the incident on 101 (quoting crime reference KS/14/156).
Town neighbourhood beat manager PC Jim Tyrell said the culprits would be dealt with ‘robustly’.
Graffiti vandals struck twice in the space of a few days in Bickwell Valley and on the beach last month.
