Residents tucked in to tea and enjoyed an afternoon of festive music at the Lion Club of Sidmouth’s annual Christmas social.

Some 65 people including members of Sidmouth Trefoil Guild attended the event at St Francis Church Hall last Tuesday.

Sidmouth Voluntary Services provided transport to the event for guests to be able to enjoy the feast and musical entertainment.

The afternoon featured carols from a choir of Sidmouth Primary School children led by conductor Emma Bateman and seasonal songs from Sidmouth Ukele Strummers led by Nic Birt.

Ian Skinner, president of the Lions Club, thanked the performers and helpers for a ‘welcome introduction’ in the lead up to Christmas festivities.
