A fundraising concert has hit all the right notes to raise £1,200 for Sidmouth Town Band.

Sidmouth Lions Club presented the four-figure sum to Adrian Harvey and Martin Cordy from the band to put towards its new headquarters at St Francis Church Hall.

The successful concert took place at the Manor Pavilion last month.

The evening featured music from the town band and guest artists, including singers from Honiton Musical Theatre Company, guzheng player ‘Lucy’ Xiaotung and singer Val Howels, accompanied by Dorothy Worthington and Jenny Campbell.

On behalf of the band, Adrian and Martin thanked the Lions for the ‘magnificent donation’ and residents’ ‘generous support.’
