Community groups and councils discuss big issues facing East Devon
NEARLY 100 people representing East Devon’s voluntary organisations, community groups. town and parish councils, met at Knowle, Sidmouth, to discuss the big issues facing their communities.
Organised by East Devon District Council, the event brought local agencies together to strengthen communications between the voluntary and public sectors who are working to give the district a better future.
Delegates learned about the Government’s Localism agenda and how health and welfare reforms will impact East Devon, as well as EDDC’s plans over the next four years for housing and communities, economy and environment (Shaping Our Future).
Speakers included Locality, East Devon Citizens’ Advice Bureau and NHS Devon.
