Pet bird feline fine in temporary home, leaving family cat sour-faced

A family who took in a lost budgerigar are appealing for its owners to come forward – as the bird is upsetting their cat.

Jacqui Jeffries, of Manstone Mead, said they found the pet alive and well in their garden on the afternoon of Friday, February 12, but – despite efforts – have failed to find out who it belongs to.

Her son Paul said: “We borrowed the next door neighbour’s parrot cage and the budgie is currently in the living room. The cat is in the dining room and is not very happy having the live bird in the house.

“The budgie looks very healthy but we have no idea whose it is.”

Anyone who has lost their pet bird, or has any idea who it might belong to, can contact the Sidmouth Herald on 01392 888504.
