Lottie, 10, was brought into ARC Animal Rescue Centre after her owner was unable to cope. Manager Crystal Scott arranged for the pooch to be seen by the vets after it became obvious she was in pain. They discovered three large bladder stones, and operated to remove them.

Crystal said; “The vets they had never seen anything like it. The stones were huge for a dog her size.

“She has a new lease of life. I thought she was full of tumours, her whole body was rock hard. She is able to eat now, she couldn’t before as the stones were pushing up on her bowels, she probably couldn’t sleep.”

Lottie has now been rehomed by a Seaton couple and was collected on Tuesday.

The charity currently has 10 dogs looking for new homes. For more information or to donate visit www.arcrescue.co.uk/
