THERE have been nine reported crimes in Branscombe this year so far, PC Steve Speariett told parish councillors at the Annual General Meeting last week.

He said these low figures are encouraging and police are conducting high visibility patrols and property marking to deter agricultural theft, which is common at this time of the year.
