Lucky escape for overturned car driver

A DRIVER had a lucky escape when their car overturned near Sidbury on Sunday evening.

The incident, involving a red Ford Fiesta, happened at around 6.50pm near Higher Knapp Farm.

No one was injured in the crash. Traffic was diverted around the overturned car and both lanes were up and running by 8.30pm.

Two fire engines from Honiton were called following reports of a petrol spillage.

The driver of the Fiesta, a 41-year-old Sidmouth man, was arrested for failing a road side breath test.

He was taken to Heavitree Police Station but was found to be under the drink-drive limit and was released without charge.
