Majority ‘happy’ with EDDC services

A survey carried out by East Devon District Council (EDDC) has revealed that the majority of residents are happy with the services it offers.
Results from a recent ‘viewpoint survey’ show that 71 per cent of people are pleased with the way the council runs its services, 79 per cent are happy with the way the authority keeps them informed and 66 per cent believe EDDC provides value for money.
However, despite a seven per cent increase from the last survey in 2013, just 56 per cent of respondents said they are happy with the speed at which the council responds when asked for help.
The results show that the most contentious issue for residents is planning and development, with the majority of respondents who said they were unhappy with the council citing it as their reason.
Council leader Paul Diviani said: “The feedback from the three surveys we carried out has given us invaluable insight into how the people of East Devon feel about our services.
“We will now draw up an action plan to address the areas for improvement.”
