Man, 32, admits sex with underage girl but denies rape

A man has admitted having sex with an underage, teenage girl but denied raping her.

Kevin Briggs, aged 32, will face a trial at Exeter Crown Court at the end of this month accused of rape.

Briggs, from Taunton, who used to live in Sidmouth and Exeter, admitted sexual activity with a child. He denied rape.

Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, remanded Briggs in custody and adjourned the case until February 29.
