AN Ottery man who threatened to harm himself on Saturday was arrested and then released without charge, police have said.

AN Ottery man who threatened to harm himself on Saturday was arrested and then released without charge, police have said.

Officers raced to a Shutes Mead address at around 4.30pm after receiving reports of a domestic incident in which a knife could have been involved.

A police spokeswoman said: "No threats were made. The man was concerned for his welfare and threatening to self-harm. He was initially arrested, then released, no further action will be taken.
