Customers are invited to drop in at lunchtime for a slice of cake and a coffee while they view press cuttings about the public campaign to get the facility built.
The pool still has one of its original receptionists, Kath Eastwood, who has been working there since its opening day. Jane Kay started six months later, while current manager Steve Reid started out as a lifeguard.
To celebrate the anniversary, swimmers who complete 25 lengths will be entered into a raffle to win a £25 Christmas hamper.
