Traffic was brought to a standstill last week after a meat lorry crashed and ended up on its side in a ditch next to the B3180.
Morning commuters were left stuck as police and fire crews sought to remove the articulated truck from the road between Ayslebeare and West Hill.
The lorry, carrying lamb from a firm in Launceston, Cornwall, was eventually removed and the road re-opened by lunchtime.
