The first of Sidmouth’s annual Meet the Author talks has been cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

Best selling writer Joanna Trollope was due to visit Kennaway House on Saturday to talk about her latest novel An Unsuitable Match.

Nikki Darwin, manager for Kennaway House, said the author is unable to attend due to the weather, adding she was waiting to hear if the talk could be postponed for another date.

She said: “We are currently waiting for them to update us if another date can be arranged in the very near future, and we will contact you again as soon as we hear.”

The well-known author has 19 highly acclaimed and best-selling novels, including City of Friends, The Rector’s Wife and Marrying the Mistress.
