THREE men alleged to have been caught stealing �60,000 worth of goods in a raid on a Sidmouth shop appeared in court this week.

Leonard Packman, 40, and father and son Christopher Winter, 43, and Shaun Winter, 21, are charged with burglary of Goviers.

The fine crystal and china store in High Street was hit on Saturday, March 28.

Police responded to an alarm sounding at around 3.50am and made three arrests at the scene.

Officers said thousands of pounds worth of Royal Worcester and other items of china had been stolen.

Packman, of Lillebonne Close in Wellington, Christopher Winter, of Oxen Lane in North Curry, and Shaun Winter, of Coronation Street in Chard, all entered no plea to the charge when they appeared at Central Devon Magistrates on Tuesday.

The case was adjourned until Friday, June 12, when the case will be committed to Exeter Crown Court.
