POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a brand new car, worth more than £30,000, was damaged in a hit-and-run in Fortfield Terrace on Sunday night.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a brand new car, worth more than £30,000, was damaged in a hit-and-run in Fortfield Terrace on Sunday night.

A silver Mercedes, less than two weeks old, suffered extensive damage to its body work in what police describe as a 'shoulder barge', at about 11.30pm on April 27.

A police spokesman said: "We are looking for witnesses after considerable damage was done to the body work - an area was dented on the offside of the vehicle above the petrol cap and we are treating it as criminal damage.

"If anybody can help please let us know."
