Sidmouth Amnesty group sign cards of hope for human rights victims

SIDMOUTH will host an evening in December for supporters of East Devon Amnesty International Group and the public can send messages of hope to victims of human rights violations.

Between 7.30pm and 9.30pm on Thursday, December 1, at Twyford House, Coburg Road, people will be able to write messages of solidarity to those suffering and those who support them.

Tony McFarlane, a member of the local Amnesty International group, said: “We know that the people who receive these cards feel supported and less isolated so it is a very worthwhile thing to do.”

The group will provide greetings cards and information about specific individuals whose rights are being denied and some seasonal refreshment will be provided.
