MIDSUMMER MADNESS: The Rotary Club in Ottery will be bringing some mid-summer madness to the town with an ‘It’s a Knockout’ themed event.

It takes place on Saturday, June 15, at Ottery St Mary Football Club, with stalls, fairground rides, barbecue, refreshments as well as the games.

Starting at 2pm, entry is free and from 7.30pm there will be live music featuring The 4 King Dwarfs.

SOCCER SCHOOL: Budding young superstars can learn to ‘Play the Arsenal Way’ with a soccer school in Ottery this whit holiday.

It takes place at the leisure centre on May 30 and 31 for children aged between seven and 15 years old.

CAR BOOT: Ottery Bowls Club is holding a car boot sale at its ground in Strawberry Lane on Saturday, June 1.

It is open for sellers from 8am, buyers at 9am, and runs until 1pm.

TOOL THEFT: Police are looking for information after a new tenant at Ottery’s allotments had a box of tools stolen.

PCSO Maria Clapp said if anybody knows anything about the incident or had been offered tools to buy to contact her on 101 with reference KO/13/247.

PLANNING: Ottery Town Council said it could not support plans to build a house in Higher Metcombe as it was ‘well outside the built up area boundary and in open countryside’. The district council will make the final decision next month.
