A hundred people poured through the door of Sidmouth’s first ever model railway exhibition within an hour of it opening.
A three-day exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary since the closure of the station was opened on Tuesday.
The event called Sidmouth Station – A Lifetime Ago is being held at Kennaway House and will be open from 10am until 4pm today and 10am until 7pm on tomorrow (Thursday).
The display includes memorabilia as well as photographs showing the life of the town and its station during the 93 years it was open.
Ann Tanner, the museum’s publicity officer, said: “It means so much to the people who lived in Sidmouth and used the train, they’ve been sharing some wonderful memories.”
Tickets are £3 for adults and £1.50 for under 15s.
