SALVORS tasked to lift the last remaining part of the MSC Napoli face even more delays.

The operation, which was due to begin last Friday, has been halted after seven of the 12 giant chains wrapped around the ship need to be replaced.

The seabed is being blamed for the delay as the chains became stuck in the glue-type earth. Another three chains were replaced last week after the 'test lift' when it was discovered they were also embedded.

Now the operation has been put back until next week.

Mark Clark, of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, said: "The salvors are very frustrated but they are doing their level best to deal with the problems.
