A couple behind an independent jewellery store have selected Sidmouth as the site for their second shop.
Madeleine and Mike Smith have been in business in Bath with JBM Jewellery for 25 years and opened last Friday in Church Street in time for Christmas.
Madeleine was born to a gold and silversmith father who ‘taught me everything I know’, lectured in Melbourne and even submitted a design for a brooch for the Queen.
She combines his ‘old school’ teachings with new techniques to design all of the necklaces, earrings and rings they make, while Mike ‘knows everything there is to know’ about diamonds.
The East Devon couple also sell hand-picked Italian handbags and ‘off-the-peg’ jewellery.
