EX3 Productions is in the final weeks of rehearsals before opening night of Aspects of Love at Sidmouth’s Manor Pavilion.

Founder and musical director Jeremy Rawlings spent weeks negotiating to secure the rights to put on the show, which opened in the West End back in 1989.

With the support of colleagues Martin and Elaine Kingston, actors from the local area and Total TEP, he aims for EX3 to put on a number of musical and theatre shows that have been rarely seen or ever performed in the South West.

Jeremy said: “Aspects of Love is hopefully the first in a long line of musical theatre productions the company hopes to bring to Sidmouth and the East Devon area. The company chose the Manor Pavilion Theatre to premiere this new staging due to the special intimate nature of the auditorium and the ambiance that the venue creates for such a production. EX3 has been a long time in gestation, I thought of the idea 10 years ago.

“To the company’s knowledge the musical has not been seen in a fully staged version in the South West of England making this production all the more important not to be missed.”

Aspects of Love ran in the West End for 1,325 performances across three years and launched the career of Michael Ball.

The show tells the story of four protagonists and the romantic entanglements over a period of 17 years.

Jeremy said: “It’s giving local people the opportunity to perform and most importantly bringing them to the public.

“It’s been a rather short rehearsal period and quite intense.

“Everybody that is involved is really well known local people.”

Looking to the future, Jeremy is already planning more productions and says one of the aims to take performances on tours to other venues across the district.

Aspects of Love runs from November 27 until December 1. Tickets cost £15 for adults and £14 under 16s.

Evening performances at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 3pm.

To book call the Manor Pavilion box office on 01395 514413.
