OTTERY town council welcomed a new recruit last week.
Councillor Heather Talbot, a mum of seven who works in Joshua's Harvest Store, was welcomed by fellow town officials as she joined them for a full council meeting last Wednesday.
Cllr Talbot's north ward parish includes Alfington, Escot, Gosford, Fenny Bridges and Thorne.
Cllr Joy Richardson said: "She is well known and lives in the area. It's nice that someone from the ward applied."
- West Hill councillor Vanessa Hudson has resigned from her seat on the town council. Cllr Hudson cited personal commitments for her decision. She said: "Im sorry i had to do it, i would of loved to have carried on but i just can't stretch to more than 24 hours a day.
