The Bishop of Exeter has licensed the new team vicar for the Sid Valley Mission Community of Anglican Churches.

The Reverend David Caporn has a special responsibility for All Saints Church and the Parish Church of St Mary and St Peter in Salcombe Regis.

David, his wife Jill and their two young sons are moving from near Swindon. Although he always sensed he eventually would be in ordained church ministry after studying natural sciences at Cambridge, David trained as a chartered accountant in Bristol.

It was there he met and married Jill, and after 10 ten years working with large international businesses, David undertook ordination training at Trinity College Bristol.

He has served as curate in Highworth, near Swindon, for the last three years.

David was licensed by the Bishop of Exeter, the Right Reverend Robert Atwell, on Monday.
