There is a new face at Ottery Library as a new supervisor has joined the team.

Self-professed book worm Xanthe Waite will manage the day to day running of the Silver Street building, which is run by Libraries Unlimited.

The former primary school teacher became a library assistant in Honiton in 2016 before securing the position.

She said: “I am delighted to be the new supervisor at Ottery. Everyone has given me a very warm welcome. I love a job where I can make a difference, where I can help people and where we can focus on the library being at the heart of the community. I am looking forward to getting to know my staff and customers and to ensuring the library remains an important part of the town.”

Joanne Launder, head of service delivery at Libraries Unlimited, said: “Xanthe is a great asset to the team, her passion for library services and children’s learning will bring a huge amount to the role and the services we offer. We look forward to seeing the library grow and flourish under her supervision and the work of her team.”
