Parents of babies and toddlers in Ottery can now come together with their children to socialise, chat and make friends with other parents at a new toddler playgroup at the St Mary’s Church.

Led by church wardens Rosie Hall and Margaret Whitlock and a team of volunteers, Tots’ Time will cater for up to 20 adult attendees (until Covid restrictions change) with an unlimited number of spaces for babies and Tots.
Children from new-born to preschool will be welcome. The facility, toys and equipment will be provided for free by the church, including refreshments.
Rosie said: “I’m so very excited about Tots’ Time. Contacts at a toddler group I made when my children were small led to lifetime friendships. People are already expressing an interest in coming.
“Since Covid, parents have not been able to socialise and there are no groups like this in the town. So there is a real need.”

The first weekly session starts on Monday, June 7. The playgroup will operate during term time, from 2pm-3pm, and provide an opportunity for new mums and dads to meet up for a drink and a chat and for their babies to play and start to socialise with other little ones as well.
