A SIDMOUTH dad-of-two has become a ground trustee of the town’s Cricket, Tennis, Croquet and Hockey Club.

Mike Dibble, an estate agent of 30 years who moved to Sidmouth in 1977, was handed the role by Sidmouth Town Council.

Mr Dibble got the unanimous backing of councillors at their full meeting earlier this month.

The town council has nominated one of four ground trustees since the club purchased Sidmouth’s cricket hub in 1935.

A new trustee to represent the council was needed following the death of Brian Fitzgerald.

Councillor Graham Liverton said of the new choice: “I have absolute faith in Mike Dibble. I couldn’t think of a I finer person to do that job.”
