A dental nurse is tackling a half-marathon to ‘do her bit’ for the charity that helped her family after her dad died when she was just nine years old.
Donna Johnston, of Newton Poppleford, is taking on the Great West Run for the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF). Her friend Ashton Heal will run alongside her, raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Donna, 28, said: “My chosen charity is ELF as I very sadly lost my dad, Bob Barnard, to this horrible disease and he was only 44 years old. This is a local charity and I wanted to do my bit to help other families who are going through the same upset that we did.”
