A NEWTON Poppleford man is hoping to find the owner of an unusual lodger that appeared in his back yard last week.
Bill Voisey, of High Street, found a tame, small brown and ginger ferret, on the lookout for food, on Monday morning and has since taken it into his home in the hope anybody missing it will come forward.
Mr Voisey said: "It's very friendly so I'm certain it's a domestic pet, and I'd say it's only a young one, about half grown. It's lucky I found it before my dog did, but we're keeping it well fed on bread and milk. I hope somebody can come and claim it or I'm going to have to look into finding it a good home elsewhere."
Anybody wishing to claim the Ferret can contact Mr Voisey on (01395) 568737.
