Recycled plastics, newspaper bags and crisp packets replaced silk, fur and linen in a school fashion show.
Children of Newton Poppleford Primary School held a fashion show made entirely of reused products to show a new way of recycling.
This term’s focus has been on recycling, reducing and reusing materials, culminating in the show complete with runway.
The children used materials including plastic, old clothes and jewellery to create new wearable items. There were themed sections with children from Year 2 focusing on royal wedding attire, complete with top hats and fascinators, while Year 1 pupils paired old newspapers with crisp packets collected from the beach.
Year 4 pupils researched and designed jackets made from plastics and Year 5 students made a range of jewellery. Year 3 children along with help from parents designed tops.
The children proudly displayed their creations in front of gathered parents at an event in their school hall.
