POLICE were called to Waitrose car park at 5.10pm on Bank Holiday Monday by ambulance crew, after an elderly woman was found dead in her car.
The woman, aged 82, from Newton Poppleford, has not been named after a death certificate was issued by a doctor.
There were no suspicious circumstances and there will be no inquest, said the coroner's officer.
"This is a private matter. Police and ambulance attended," said a store representative, who did not want to discuss the incident further.
"It is very sad, she had been shopping and another member of the public found her and informed the store," said a police spokeswoman.
