THERE were plenty of treats but no nasty tricks in Sidmouth on the spookiest day of the year.

Hallowe'en went without a hitch, according to police, who received no reports relating to 'trick-or-treating' anti-social behaviour.
Sergeant Andy Turner, of Sidmouth Police, said: "I would like to commend parents and the children themselves for their conduct over this event.
"It would appear the advice given by East Devon Community Partnership was heeded. Many people displayed posters which were printed in the Herald and 'trick-or-treaters' respected their wishes."
The full neighbourhood team was on duty last Saturday and officers were posted to Sidford Cross to control the traffic leaving Sidbury Fireworks display.
Sergeant Turner added: "We listened to what people said last year about Sidford Cross becoming a bottleneck as people left the event. As a result there were no significant hold-ups.
