Just two weeks left to get your nomination in for our Citizen of the Year award

THERE are just two weeks left to get nominations in for Sidmouth’s Citizen of the Year 2010.

Nominees can include charity workers or people who act from their own initiative to benefit the community.

Arthur Passey, co-ordinator of the competition from Sidmouth Rotary Club, said: “We have had people from all walks of life in the past.”

There is no better way to say thank you than by making a nomination for the 2010 Citizen of the Year.

Run jointly by the Rotary Club and the Sidmouth Herald, the competition aims to find someone who has made a significant contribution to life in or around the town.

Sidmouth Rotary Club made its first Citizen of the Year award in 1985 and there is a full Roll of Honour board displayed at the town council offices in Woolcombe House.

Readers have until Friday, February 4 to get their nominations in on forms published in the Sidmouth Herald. Photocopied forms will not be accepted.

Once completed they should be sent in a sealed envelope marked 2010 Citizen of the Year to Sidmouth Herald, Archant SW, Fair Oak Close, Exeter Airport Business Park, Clyst Honiton, Exeter EX5 2UL or dropped into the Co-op, High Street, Sidmouth, or Kennaway House, Coburg Road to the Sidmouth Herald office there on Mondays and Fridays.
