An Ottery garden centre and a cottage holiday firm combined to raise more than £700 for Macmillan.
Otter Nurseries, which has agreed a year-long pledge to help the cancer charity, held its bi-annual staff quiz on Tuesday, February 26.
There was also a raffle, with a week long holiday in the Cotswolds courtesy of Premier Cottages as the big prize.
Mike Lane, known to his Otter Nurseries colleagues as ‘The Bookman’, was the lucky winner, with a total of £739 going towards Macmillan Cancer Support.
Angie Lowe, the charity’s fundraising manager, said the evening was ‘fantastic’, and raised enough money for 29 hours of nursing.
