Friends of an old Sidmothian who has suffered a stroke have chipped in to bring him back from Portugal for a holiday.
Ralph Eveleigh left East Devon some 40 years ago to set up a building firm in Portugal after stints running Sidford Central Garage and working in London.
His condition has meant the ‘brilliant engineer’ has been out of work for a few years, but now his cousin Tom Griffiths and friends hope to show him his old haunts.
Ralph, 69, will be visiting Sidmouth for a week’s holiday in a seafront flat from next Saturday (September 14).
