It was a record breaking end of term for The King's School students, which saw them reach new heights during their annual sports day. The school's four houses competed against one another in a number of track and field disciplines on Tuesday (July 17).
Year nine student Jasmine Stone smashed not one, but two 20-year-old records on the day in the 1500m and 800m run – the records were first set by five-time Olympian Jo Pavey in 1988.
Finn Upsher in year seven equalled the boys’ high jump record and year nine’s Oscar Bowerman set a new fastest time for the boys 300m race.
Kennaway house finished in first place with 1,058 points.
The day concluded with a head-to-head relay race between the staff and sixth formers, which ended in a win for the sixth form.
A school spokeswoman said: “The students were all fantastic, supporting each other and competing with such a wonderful attitude.”
