AN 18-year-old volunteer at Sidmouth’s The Donkey Sanctuary is looking forward to carrying the Olympic torch in Exeter on Sunday.
Aspiring doctor Emma McLean has helped children who use charity’s riding therapy unit for more than a year.
She said: “I’m really pleased to have been picked to carry the Olympic torch in recognition of my volunteering, and am looking forward to it.”
Jennie Jepperson, centre co-ordinator for the charity’s donkey assisted therapy centre in Sidmouth, added: “Emma is a really valuable member of the team. We are proud to support her as she carries the Olympic torch next weekend.”
