LOCAL artists will hold their annual open air charity exhibition of paintings at Connaught Gardens, Sidmouth, on Saturday, August 23.

LOCAL artists will hold their annual open air charity exhibition of paintings at Connaught Gardens, Sidmouth, on Saturday, August 23.

Sidmouth Society of Artists has chosen Devon Air Ambulance as its chosen charity for this year's exhibition between 10am and 4pm.

About 35 artists from the society will take part, donating the commission raised from the sale of paintings, prints and cards.

Money raised from the one-day event, together will any raised at a coffee morning at Westcliff Hotel from 10am to 11.30am on Tuesday, October 28, will be donated to a representative of Devon Air Ambulance.

Society exhibition officer Celia Burnham said: "It is always a fun day out for the artists, and for the visitors, and despite some overcast starts, we have been lucky with the weather for the past few years.

"Since it is held in the covered seating area near the Sidmouth Fiddler, it can still be enjoyed whatever the weather!
