Fundraising efforts from the Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs of Otter Valley raised £1,977 for people affected by Typhoon Haiyan.

The cash will go towards four boxes from Cornwall-based charity ShelterBox, which contain essential survival items including a tent for 10 people, tools and water purification equipment.

Jim Cobley, president of the Rotary Club of Otter Valley, said: “The response by those living in West Hill and Ottery St Mary has been overwhelming.”
