AN Ottery band drew in bumper crowds during Sidmouth FolkWeek, boosting sales of their first album.
OchreLane attracted nearly 500 revellers to packed sea-front venue Dukes last Thursday, selling 60 copies of debut CD Scribbled Pavements in just two hours.
The Ottery-based band, led by singer Jai Darke, her guitar-playing Sidbury boyfriend and fellow vocalist Dan Prettejohn, drummer sibling Pete Darke and bass-player Ian Pring, have since notched up a string of rave-reviews on social networking site Facebook. Fans labelled their acoustic, folk rock exploits as "awesome".
Bassist Ian, 21, of Coleridge Road, said: "It was one of the best gigs I have ever played and epitomised FolkWeek. The crowd responded really well to us, they were singing along and even dancing on the tables."
