PLANS and drawings of how a new skate and BMX track in Ottery St Mary could look were on show at a public meeting in the town last night (Thursday).

As the Herald went to press yesterday, it was given a preview of what was planned for the meeting by chairman Elli Pang.

"We have to have an annual meeting and because we have not given a lot of information recently to the public we decided to do it as a public meeting so people can come and ask questions and look at drawings.

"We want to recruit people to come forward to help. We have to form ourselves into a legal body, a charity or Community Involvement Company, a new vehicle for voluntary community groups set up by Government.

"Most of the people in the group will probably become trustees, but we would like to invite others in the community to join. We need help with fundraising and hope people will volunteer for that.
