Ottery Carnival 2017 in pictures

Pirates, princesses and Mary Poppins all made an appearance this weekend as Ottery Carnival arrived into town.

Organisers made the decision for the show to go on following concerns about the weather earlier in the day.

Crowds turned out in force as the parade pass through the town before heading to the Land of Canaan for a spectacular firework display.

Ottery’s royalty arrive in a peacock garden waving to passersby as they made their way through the float.

The current party is Hannah Rugg, Freya Bailey and Millie Gething who will be succeeded by Mia Kelly as Queen and princesses Holly Keen and Rihanna Hutchinson for the 2018 circuit.

The trio were crowned at a crowning ceremony earlier in the day.
