Theatre company perform three very different one-act plays, written by members
There’s something for all ages and tastes when the Ottery Community Theatre present an evening of three one-act plays, all written by their own members, at The Institute on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 July.
First up is one for a younger audience: Battle Royle by Laurie Palmer, about two rival gangs of skaters in a town hall square.
Local history enthusiasts will enjoy The Crucifix by Jack Coates, exploring an Ottery family’s view of the English Civil War between Cavaliers and Roundheads.
Finally, The Knitting Circle by Jill Machin is the story of four ladies ‘of a certain age’ who meet weekly to knit and chat, but begin to crave something a little less routine.
Tickets are £10 for adults, £8 for under-16s, and the price includes a ‘bring your own bottle’ ploughman’s supper. A share of the proceeds from ticket sales, and all money raised bv the raffle in the interval, will go to Hospiscare.
