Peter and Theresa Young and their relatives before them, have been making the guy that's sits atop Ottery's giant bonfire on November 5, since 1958.
After 51 years the couple are gave up the duty and Ottery's Carnival Committee has launched a competition for townsfolk to come up with this year's incarnation.
Peter and Theresa will judged entries on Saturday, with the finest getting the honour of being burnt on the Millennium Green on Thursday.
