A DUO of Ottery dentists have raised hundreds of pounds for an oral health charity by taking on a gruelling cycling challenge.
Ottery St Mary Dental Practise doctors Nikki Harris and John Makin took part in the 102-mile Ilfracombe to Plymouth Denplan Coast to Coast Bike Ride last month.
The pair took on the challenge to raise cash for the Dentaid charity, which supplies third-world country's with access to dentistry.
John tackled the three-day course with wife Maureen, while Nikki took part with husband and two children, on tandem bicycles.
She said: "It was really tough, but fantastic fun and the windy and rainy conditions did not spoil it one bit. It was a real; test of endurance for all of us but there were plenty of smiles and camaraderie, not to mention the fabulous scenery.
"We are really pleased to take part and raise money for such a worthwhile charity.
