OTTERY drivers caught using their mobile phones while behind the wheel face a 60 hit in the pocket and six points on their license, police have warned.
Concerns have been raised motorists in the town are breaking the law by driving and using their phones at the same time, and Ottery's neighbourhood policing team wants to clamp down on the crime.
PC Phil Thomas said: "We will be monitoring parts of the town over this in the near future. Anyone caught will be hit with a fixed penalty notice and six points on their license so it is a real risk. More importantly it is a public safety issue."
- DRIVERS in Yonder Street and Mill Street have been urged to slow down. Police have been monitoring both roads after receiving complaints that motorists are flouting the speed limit.
