A fire crew was called to a property in Ottery St Mary shortly before 3am this morning (Friday).

One engine arrived at the address in Brooksdale at 2.51am after receiving a call from an elderly couple reporting flooding in their house.

The occupants said they had found water coming out of the kitchen cupboard from under the sink, but did not know where it was coming from.

A spokesman from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “Her and her husband were unable to locate the stop cock or stem the flow of water. The crew isolated the water supply, shortly after arriving.”

The crew made the area safe and adviced the couple before leaving.
