DRIVERS in Ottery were waxing lyrical about their spotless cars on Saturday as the town's fire-fighters took part in National Car Wash Day.
The fundraising event, which raised cash for The Fire Fighters Charity, saw Ottery Fire Service members join thousands of colleagues across the country and line up outside their station in Canaan Way with buckets and sponges.
The day provided drivers with the opportunity to receive a shampoo and polish for their cars, along with the opportunity to make a charity donation upon exit.
The Fire Fighters Charity raises funds for injured fire fighters during their times of need, assisting over 13,000 individuals every year by providing pioneering treatment and support services.
