A FUNDRAISER from Ottery is preparing for an epic climb up Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for a charity that boosts youngsters.
Mandy Parker, of Toadpit Lane, hopes to raise more than 10,000 from the trek and is appealing for support as she prepares to take on Africa’s highest mountain. Mandy is chair of trustees for the Exmouth-based Magnolia Incentive charity, and will head to Tanzania next week.
“I am trying to raise 1 for every metre I climb. I’m climbing 5,895m so I have the opportunity to raise 5,895 which will be doubled to 11,790,” said Mandy. The Magnolia Incentive, founded in 2004, provides financial and pastoral assistance to Exmouth Community College pupils for higher education studies.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to bring in funds for ‘my kids’ at ECC,” she said. Sponsor Mandy at http://www.justgiving.com/Mandy-Parker1969.
