Ottery Gardening Club held its spring show in The Institute last week and said despite recent poor weather there were plenty of perfect plants on display.
Chairman Brian Nelson said the number of entrants was affected by the weather, with recent windy conditions battering daffodil crops, but said there were some ‘very good’ culinary art entrants this year.
He said he was also pleased with the children’s competitions, and said the club has been working hard to get young people involved.
Mr Nelson himself picked up the Spring Cup and the Spring Jubilee Cup, and The Derek Edmonds Trophy for best daffodil went to Mr Pash.
In the junior classes Kristen Henderson picked up the RHS Certificate for best exhibit, and Rowan Nickels, Carys Hayne and Molly Phillips shared joint first prize for ‘Face on a Pizza Base’ competition.
